Mustang Trek
Trekking in Mustang region is a unique experience which takes you to an arid region beyond the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The route entails traveling across desert like landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. It is a land of barley field and pasture where sheep are seen grazing and ponies are used to carry loads. The views of windswept Kali Gandaki Valley, vast spaces around Kagbeni, sprawling ridges and high mountains provide a mind blowing experience for the brave adventurer. Trekking in Mustang is truly one of the most rewarding experiences in Nepal. Trekkers will have a close up view of the primitive society that has remained unaffected by modernization for centuries. The king still exists and grants audience to the visitors in his palace at the walled city of Lo Manthang.
Itinerary Details
01 Day : Arrival at Kathmandu airport, transfer to the hotel and overnight in hotel (we organise your staying in the hotel) Meeting with you at the hotel.
02 Day : Flight Kathmandu – Pokhara, overnight Hotel Pokhara (Breakfast)
03 Day : Flight Pokhara Jomsom (m2720), drive by Jeep Jomsom – Chele (m 3050), trek Chele – Samar (m 3660) – overnight at guesthouse Samar (Breakfast-Lunch Dinner)
04 Day : Trek Samar – Geling (m 3600) overnight at guesthouse (BLD)
05 Day : Trek Geling Drakmar (m 3800) overnight at guesthouse (BLD)
06 Day : Trek Drakmar – Lo Manthang (via Ghar Gompa) overnight at Hotel (BLD)
07 Day : Lo Manthang – Day visit – Three different monasteries and Tibetan School
Overnight at Hotel (BLD)
08 Day : Lo Manthang – Day hiking (Chosar, Chonup, Namgyal) overnight at Hotel (BLD)
Horse would cost 3500 per horse per day and jeep would cost around 7000 per day.
09 Day : Drive Lo Manthang to Shyangmonchen / Bhena by jeep, stop in Tsarang and visit monastery and Amipal palace and trek from Shyangmonchen / Bhena to Samar- overnight at guesthouse (BLD)
10 Day : Trek Samar to Chele. Drive by jeep Chele to Jomsom – overnight at Hotel (BL)
11 Day : Flight Jomsom – Pokhara- Kathmandu, overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu (B)
12 Day : Kathmandu - overnight at Hotel (B)
13 Day : Departure for home.
